How does the mail.ru agent determine my location?
I describe a situation that surprised me the other day, and later outraged me.
They brought me a laptop here the other day, to clean it from dust, to overcome viruses. So, after all the work, I thought to connect it to the Internet in order to update the antivirus databases. And since the client has the same provider with me, and the login / password for the connection is saved, without hesitation, I plugged in the network cord and connected to the Internet with his data. The client automatically starts the mailrush agent (all passwords are also saved). And then BAM! Gives:
"Your location blah blah blah (my address up to the house)."
My data in the laptop is 0%, the owner of the laptop lives in general on the other side of the city.
A logical question is, how does he determine this and how legal is it?
