How does the integrated video card work on the processor and motherboard?

How to understand the case when the description of the processor has an integrated video card, but on the motherboard?
Specific question: if the processor has an integrated graphics card, but the motherboard does not. Do I need a discrete graphics card in this case?
If possible, explain what is what and what is the difference

Motherboards that support processors with integrated graphics have video output(s), so no, you don't need a discrete card.

Yes, you need it, how will you receive the video signal?
