How does HTTPS/SSL date validation work?

Greetings!
Situation:
If the date is incorrectly set on the computer, then when accessing the site with https, the error ERR_SITE_DATE_INVALID gets out.
Questions:
1) How is the date checked on the computer?
2) In what range can the date / time on the server and computer differ?
(only for the date to be within the validity range of the SSL certificate, or something else?)
