How does Hamachi work?
As far as I understand, it acts as a regular VPN, but what acts as a server? How safe is it to use? How to make sure that traffic does not go through it?
System - Ubuntu 20.04.
Ps this may be a dumb question, but I have a very superficial understanding of networks, which is why I'm concerned about security.

yes, hamachi is a vpn, with a user-friendly interface and the ability to connect multiple points behind nat through its own servers.
Traffic can go both directly and through its servers.
Using hamachi for your sensitive data isn't very safe, but for the most part, you're the elusive Joe.
hamachi is a closed source program, so there is no trust in it, its server plays the role of a STUN server to bypass NAT
