How does git treat large frequently changing files (pictures, pdf documents)?
In addition to the code, we keep several hundred files in the git repository: images (jpg, png), xls and pdf documents. All files are changed periodically, at least once a week. For these files, the history is also important to us in order to know when and by whom these files were changed, and as a result of which code changes.
Images are screenshots of site screens for autotests.
Documents - generated by the code for autotests to compare benchmarks with the current result.
Is it normal practice to keep hundreds of frequently changing jpg, png, xls, pdf documents in a git repository? Or is there a better solution?
