How does an app get into the AppStore?

Hello! The following question is of interest: we have a device that we have developed and which currently works via Bluetooth with Android devices. An application for iOS was not made, because in order for iOS to work via bluetooth with a device, you need to be a member of the Made for iPhone program (which costs a very decent amount of money) + have an authorized bluetooth module.
At the moment we are planning to develop the second version of the device and plan to use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth. The question arose, will an application in the AppStore that will communicate with the device via Wi-Fi pass?
If anyone knows, please let me know.
Thanks in advance, Eugene.

So it seems, now you can communicate via bluetooth under iOS without such problems. There shouldn't be any problems with WiFi either, but the only question is how they will test your application if it needs your device to work.

I became interested in the problem and started to google. There is really little information, try starting from here

It would be very helpful, if you then share your experience about whether you solved the problem (and if so, how).
