How does a React app integrate with a CMS?

I don't quite understand what happens when the build command is executed. In fact, the output is a finished project. Let's say we made an online store on react, launched build, but how can we put everything that happened on the engine? So that this site can be administered, content managers fill with goods, etc. Everywhere infa about the deployment on the server, but either I do not fully understand what a deployment is, or how can I manage the deployed contents of the build folder? On WordPress there is a concept of stretching a template, plus or minus it is clear that the finished layout is integrated with WordPress. What about react?
