How do you store bookmarks for pages of scripts, articles, programs and other interesting things?

There have always been a lot of various js, css solutions, articles and other things. I want to keep all this for myself, in order to use it later.
For several years, the number of bookmarks in the browser has exceeded several hundred. It is impossible to navigate in this diversity. Many bookmarks are outdated. The breakdown by folder-categories does not help.
I've been looking for some solution for managing bookmarks for a long time. Well, for example, with all sorts of ratings and sortings .. And to make it easy to manage them.
How do you solve this problem?

Answer the question

In order to leave comments, you need to log in

You will laugh, but for this I installed a separate WordPress on the hosting and in all the browsers that I use I displayed the "publish" button on the panel (there is such a chip in WordPress). It’s convenient, really -))) It’s not lost, it’s available everywhere from any browser, you can add your comments when publishing, search internal WordPress if it works -)))

Somehow I looked through old bookmarks for interesting articles (I break everything into folders). So, some of the sites stopped their work, from here access to interesting articles was lost.
And, to avoid such moments, I would advise using Evernote's Web Clipper to save not bookmarks, but entire pages. And already in it, distribute pages by tags (for example, you can replace the rating with tags by adding the tags "bad", "good", "excellent", or "C grade", "4 rating", etc.)

The main purpose of a pocket is that it stores content AT ITSELF (downloads a page from a saved link). Those. if the content was removed from the site, then in the package - it will STAY! This is what makes me happy!
Also in FireFox it is built-in by default. Also, in versions for mobile OS, the content is synchronized (like mail) to be read at any time when there is no Internet, etc.
When you log in to FireFox from another PC from your profile, all your bookmarks are pulled up, including the bookmarks of the package, which is very convenient!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Evernote yet.

I started a repository on github like this jbranchaud/til . I put small things in there.
For articles, I use browser bookmarks, save them for a week, and then add the most necessary ones to my pocket at the end of the week. I read the rest, and if the material is no longer needed, I calmly delete it.
For very small notes and everything else I use google keep. If necessary, a note from Keep can go to the til repository.

  • Evernote ( https://goo.gl/EGkX16) - allows you to copy individual elements or quotes from a web page. If mobile app, program, and browser version.
As an option, start your own bookmarking site or GitHub repository (although you can use Evernote notebooks just as well).

I found a convenient way to store information for myself: TiddlyWiki . It only requires a browser.
There is a built-in information search, including by tags.

TiddlyWiki is a note-taking web application you can download for free, store wherever you like and customize however you wish. Use it to capture, organize and share your notes in ways that word processors and other note-taking tools cannot.
TiddlyWiki is designed to be non-linear, structuring content with stories, tags, hyperlinks, and other features. You can organize and retrieve your notes in ways that conform to your personal thought patterns, rather than feel chained to one preset organizational structure.
You can use TiddlyWiki as a single file that you view and edit through any web browser, whether you are online or offline.

You also need to remember that links are short-lived and it's a pity if the desired bookmark becomes inactive. Therefore, it is worth saving important parts as a wiki note.

As a person who is not so finely versed, I still use the Mozilla browser and distribute it to the necessary folders that I myself create.

I see no problem managing bookmarks using browser tools. I have Firefox. If you structure it correctly (folders, tags, aliases), then there are no problems, besides, there is a search. Sometimes you can’t figure out how to name a folder, I name what comes to mind first. Then sometimes I shake up the structure and define myself more clearly. Now I have five hundred bookmarks. From additions: sorter, checker and add bookmark here.

I use Mozilla for the most part, there are thousands of bookmarks. at first scattered on folders.
but it often happens that you forget the name of the folder and create another one ...
a lot has accumulated.
for optimization and all structuring - I found an addition - total bookmarks.
manually created a new directory structure and scattered everything into folders.
why not automatically, in order to remember and associate links with folders yourself - the use is accelerated, I immediately know what is where.
It would also be nice to have a tagging system, as some links overlap and can go to multiple directories. but this requires a more powerful tool.

I have been using speedpanel.net/ for several years now. There are enough possibilities. And pages by subject, and bookmarks by folders, and not tied to the browser - on a computer, on a smartphone ...

saved.io
To add a bookmark, I prefix the url in the address bar with saved.io/ or somelist.saved.io/ and press enter.
