How do you feel about the test task BEFORE the interview?

Good afternoon! It is interesting to get the opinion about the test tasks before the interview from both employers and developers.
From my own experience, I can say that I had to complete a test task only once during the interview (for my current job).
There were a lot of proposals to solve the test task before the interview, but they simply did not reach their hands. The reason is simple: in the morning one company sends a test task, in the evening the second company arranges an interview with me. Naturally, between solving the test task and preparing for the interview, I chose the second option. It also reduces the motivation to solve the test task by the fact that I still do not know if I want to work in the company that sent the test task.
What do you think about this problem? What experience do you have?

Everyone has their own experience, but in general, if a team leader spends time interviewing everyone who sent a resume, then he will not have time to work. And this is the minimum filtering.
