How do webmasters work on cheating bots? Is Botfaqtor.ru working?

The situation is as follows: I worked for 2 months with a webmaster (the choice fell on private services, because RA is expensive). There was a lot of traffic - little conversion, but stable. Perhaps for a small online store this is the norm. But!
I found out that the site is visited by bots - 1 or 2 pieces every day, always from different places. Blocked them. The next day I called the "master" - he just said that he was going on vacation, and also added that they say "do not expect conversions now anyway, people are on vacation, active demand will come in September."

There are no bots now, visits are only due to contextual advertising.
How to be in such a situation? There is an assumption that he was just a scammer and drove bots to the site under the guise of buyers (but the problem is that you can’t find out in hindsight whether there were bots before).
And now it turns out there is no traffic, no bots from it.
Mainly - if you turn on the bots again and then show him frankly - he can not return the money, right? We don't have any contract on paper. And another question, if all his visits were bot visits, then how did he conditionally make 5 conversions per month? In my case, the conversion is 2 real calls with a conversation of more than 3 minutes.
Does anyone have experience with how this usually happens?

Do you need traffic or sales? First of all, set goals in the metric (placed in the cart, placed an order, etc.) and utm-tags in the Republic of Kazakhstan, build reports and find out what traffic leads to the conversion of the site from a visitor to a buyer (lead), and separately calculate in excel , what is the conversion of a lead into a client. Consider how much a lead and an accomplished client cost you in money (after all, not everyone who put it in the basket and ordered, in the end, really redeems). Based on this, you will know which traffic from which source pays off (or not).
Mainly - if you turn on the bots again and then show him frankly - he can not return the money, right? We don't have any contract on paper.
Will not return 99%. If he boosted traffic with bots, it means that initially his approach to work was "fuck off". So where did you get the idea that when you "grab him by the hand", he will suddenly turn into a heavenly lamb, go to repent and return the money to you?
And another question, if all his visits were bot visits, then how did he conditionally make 5 conversions per month? In my case, the conversion is 2 real calls with a conversation of more than 3 minutes.
Learn metrics. The conversion could be from both organic and contextual advertising (since you say that it is enabled), or maybe the teaser worked for your affiliate marketer. Without Yandex Metrics or Google Analytics, it is impossible to determine where the source came from.
And then, 2 calls - this is from what volume of traffic, and from what source? Do not know? Then fasten call-tracking.
Does anyone have experience with how this usually happens?
"It" is what? How do they wind up traffic or how do they make conversion traffic?

cheats - this is a whole industry that
spins everything - traffic is generally ridiculous, but CPA without money is hiring and reselling: for a dollar they will install you and the application and call you on the phone to
defend yourself - change the conditions, analyze traffic
