How do I stop a tab from going into the background?

There is a website running the script (via Tampermonkey). This tab is pinned. When switching to other tabs, or God forbid, Safari is simply on, and currently working in another application - then the script does not work - in the background. Is it possible to somehow overcome the background mode?
