How do I prefill the MODx form?

Please advise. There is a window for creating a new record. It opens, of course, empty. How can I make certain fields populate by default?
That is, you need to do the following.
1. The user clicks the "Create new xxxxx..." button
2. The maximum number in one of the columns is retrieved from the MySQL table.
3. This number is increased by one
4. A window opens, for example, Doddles.window.CreateDoddle, and one of the fields is already filled with the previously found number.
Advise where to dig. According to "modx window" and "fill default value", "prefill" and so on did not help. :(
