How do I convert curves to strokes in Adobe Illustrator?

Icons are presented in curves on stocks (for example, flaticon) and you won't be able to set a smaller line thickness (greater - no problem).
As it happens now - we take the icon and draw it over it. I want automation, simplification, minimization of manual labor.

English solutions are described here
For myself, I settled on a compromise. I do not get a stroke (stroke), but I get the desired thickness:
1) Make a stroke with a contrasting color, select the desired thickness
2) Object -\u003e Expand (Object\u003e Expand)
3) In the Pathfinder panel, click "Unification" ( Merge)
4) Select the excess with a magic wand and delete it.
If in the end you need a stroke, then we do it according to the method of English-speaking colleagues: Rasterize -> Trace to Line art (line art) -> Parse. It's not perfect, but still.
