How do I change the default macbook keyboard backlight brightness?

I constantly notice that the brightness itself is pulled to the middle. For example, after a reboot. But here is such a moment:
1) I don’t need it at all during the day, turn it off.
2) At night, a minimum, one division is enough for me. I just need to see the outlines of the keyboard and that's it.
How to make the keyboard not illuminated at all during daylight hours, and in the dark - by one division?
PS: the linux-way does not bother me in the setup, but I prefer not to hack the system and do everything in a human way.

In the keyboard settings, uncheck the automatic brightness adjustment depending on the lighting.
This will fix the slider.
Then set the brightness with the buttons by one division, and turn it on and off when you need it manually.
