How difficult is it to write an online store using django-cms?

django-cms has a django-shop module that allows you to extend the site you create to an online store.
How difficult is it to write a simple online store using this system and maintain it, or is it better to turn to existing "tested by many users" systems in php?

It all depends on what is hidden under the word "simple".
We ourselves started with ubercart (drupal), it is quite efficient.
But we wanted our own “chips”, and it was difficult for me personally to customize ubercart, absolutely terrible approaches to customization.
We tried django-lfs - much better, but again, when you need to go aside, you have to prop it up with crutches.
As a result, we developed our own casino and our online store (based on django), and we are going on it.
When compared to a year or two ago, django-shop was in its infancy.
In my rating, LFS was clearly in the lead, hope was given by a store based on mezannine, and also a development from the creators of FeinCMS. Everything else was discarded for some reason.
I advise you to take LFS, if the matter is limited to “simple”, then, when things go well, you can invest in your own development.

Take a look at django-oscar, which is a pretty good store to build on. here is the demo .
