How dangerous are these extensions for Chrome browsers and others?

Good afternoon, I noticed two extensions in my Chrome browser that I did not install, they were installed locally, not from the directory. The extensions are called Gifty Box, and another one that shows ads and news. I started to google, came to this: link to reddit
And from there I went to an article on Habré I realized that I had one of the extensions listed in the article installed, namely savefrom.net
, which in turn installed without my knowledge installed two extensions unknown to me .

BUT, I still haven’t found an answer to my main question, how dangerous are these extensions? (Of course I stopped using saveftom.net and removed all extensions). Does it all end with watching ads or videos in the background? Or is it more serious? Is there any chance, for example, that they got the database of my saved passwords in the browser?

To get the answer to the "main question", you need to analyze the code of these extensions. Perhaps someone has already done this, google more. But it is unlikely that this someone is sitting here and will see your question :)
It may well be that there is nothing dangerous there now, but it will appear in the future, with some kind of update.
Such cases have already happened.
