How comfortable is it to study foreign material online in an unknown language, for example, French?

In general, there is 1 subject, technical documentation on this issue is only in French.
Unfortunately, this includes forums and sites and those online docks related to this.
French, unlike English, I do not know, and there is no time to learn it.
What kind of stray do I wear to feel comfortable on these sites?
PS I thought Google Chrome would cope with its eternal question "Translate the page?" but in 90% it says "Page translation not possible" (in browser) which makes this button completely useless.

translate.google.com
and drop the page url there.
More or less should suffice for documentation.
