How can I use PHP to autocorrect a value in DLE if it is missing?

There are variables in DLE {futbolki} and {rubashki}.
Only the variable {futbolki} should be substituted in a certain place, but if it is absent for the news, then instead of it {rubashki} . How can I do this with PHP?
