No. There price and commission decides everything.
From experience, good tripadviser reviews and ratings influence room purchases more strongly. If you ask guests to leave reviews on tripadvisor for goodies, then in six months or a year you can reach the top. Familiar hoteliers in Sri Lanka say that 80% come from TripAdvisor. And the price and discounts are completely unimportant (they have it much higher than the average Sri Lankan one).
