How can I create a gif animation preview using php?

There is a site on wordpress. Gif-animation is loaded into an arbitrary field. In the index.php file, full animations are displayed, some weigh more than 10mb. How can I create a thumbnail from GIF animation so that the page does not load for 30 minutes?
Timthumb takes the animation and returns jpg, but it is required to return gif animation.
BFI-thumb doesn't support gif at all.
The only option is to create small thumbnails manually.
Maybe there is a way to still give animation thumbnails automatically?

Just an animated GIF is a traffic eater and generally tin. Better managed video.
