How can I convert PNG/JPG to SVG?

Use Vector Magic, Luke. Simple vectorizer but effective for bitmap icons

Illustrator can only draw if the picture is large and clear in color, i.e. clearly black, clearly white. Something small or simple is always faster to draw right there with your hands.
Corel gives better results, which is why many people keep both tools on their computer.
Vector magic does a really good job with complex clipart, but it has its own problems: there can be a lot of extra contours and points, especially if there are gradients, then instead of one simple contour with a gradient, there can be hundreds of pieces of threads at the output, although apparently this can be Not bad.
