How big should CSS be for a site to load quickly?

I bought a Canvas template on Themeforest ( https://themeforest.net/item/canvas-the-multipurpo...
It has almost 300,000 CSS characters, isn't it too big?
I'm afraid that the site on this template will take a long time to load for users.
Or is this the normal size?
I have little experience yet.
If someone has worked with this template, please share your thoughts.
Should I continue to work with it or is it worth looking for another one?

To be fast, you need to correctly distribute the loading of styles and remember to cache on the client side:
1. Styles of the main markup grid (which is inline: critical) - <=2kb
2. All other styles (those below before the body) - any .
Recommendations from Google: here
Divide (if it is not already done in the template itself) and everything will be OK.
