How are the speakers in the JBL Tune 250 BT headphones?

I have JBL Tune 250 BT headphones. When one of the headphones accidentally got food, a thick sauce for pasta (didn’t fill it, it dripped a little). When I tried to clean it, I overdid it, and tore off the membrane

(there was an aiset inside the naunika, it is held on one side).
To prevent debris from getting inside the earpiece, I sealed the hole with electrical tape.

The sound became different. Not so detailed. As I understand it, the earphone can no longer be saved, it is maintenance-free. But nevertheless, what role does the membrane play? How is the earpiece inside?

Approximately the same role as the hole in the back of the case in conventional speakers (phase inverter).
You did a little crap, don't take it as rudeness. Go to any tobacco store, buy pipe nets (50 rubles), cut out a small circle from one and glue it from the inside of the earpiece - it will be exactly the same as with the original one.
