How are printers hacked?

I'm interested because I'm not far from the programming industry (I write in python). I decided to ask a question because I did not find an adequate answer not in Russian-speaking, not in English-speaking forums.

Just like routers and other equipment. We are looking for a vulnerability in a web server (if access to the printer settings is via http) or some other protocol (for example, telnet), we get admin access and do what we want.
