How and with what help to program under linux?

Interested in software with which you can effectively learn the same c ++ under linux distributions.
I'm a beginner in this business, so if starting with c++ is a bad idea, please suggest a better option. Thanks a lot.

You can compile from the console, gcc / g++.
If IDE, then Qt Creator, for example.
And there is also Google and a bunch of similar questions and answers to them, even here: I read about various compilers and settled on gcc, but I don’t understand how to use it?
