Headphone jack and Kubuntu?

I installed Kubuntu as the second system after Windows, and because my headphone jack does not work well (the sound is only in one ear), I insert the headphones into the microphone jack and select them as headphones in Windows ... Now the question is: is it possible to do the same with Kubuntu? Because when I put the headphones into the microphone jack, the headphones are not detected in any way ..
