Hardware under kali linux?

Hello.
The programmer himself.
I want to play around with pentesting software at my leisure by installing kali linux.
The main machine is a macbook, but under Kali I want to take a separate machine and as budget as possible.
Hence the question, what characteristics should a system unit / laptop have in order to be comfortable working with this distribution?

Kal is a regular Debian GNU/Linux with packages installed out of the box. Anything Debian GNU/Linux runs will run Kal.
That is, any laptop released in the last 15 years will suit you.
