Hardware: Server processors like Intel Xeon are not very fast, the main thing in them is cores, not speed?

After all, server processors are created for servers, primarily HTTP servers (Apache, etc.), which perfectly support multithreading, so they have a lot of cores, and sometimes even the frequency in GHz on the VPS hosting site is written multiplied by the number nuclei.
Therefore, I believe that among them there are no very fast ones, the low performance of each core is simply compensated by the number of cores, and this is suitable for servers as such, but not very well suited for my tasks where the VPS is used as "just a powerful computer for rent", therefore The question is, am I right, or not at all?

At the same frequency, intel server processors are almost identical to desktop ones. The differences may lie in the amount of cache and memory support.
But there are a few things, the first multithreading adds some overhead, and therefore it is rare that performance grows linearly. The second cost of several desktop machines can be significantly lower than the cost of a similar number of megahertz per core in the form of a server.
IMHO, it makes sense to use vps as a number grinder only if tasks take very little time, otherwise it will be much more expensive than maintaining your equipment.

For me personally, after this video, everything fell into place)))
Clearly, intelligibly and with examples.

Yes, they have a lot of fast processors, since both server and regular ones are based on the same base

Modern "Xeons" (for quite a long time already) are built on the same Core technology as the desktop ones. That is why it is possible to feint with the ears with the "transformation" of the processor with a banal sticker that changes a pair of processor contacts in places.
