Google now settings on Android?

I can't figure it out. I download google now (more precisely, google voice search), I go into it, there is a regular voice search. I go to settings, click "Enable" google now. I am thrown into it and its settings. Then I close the program, I go into it again and I again have a voice search on the main one. But I don’t understand how to go to google now (I can turn off now in the settings and turn it on again, then I will be transferred to it again). And is it possible to set it up so that when you enter the program it was on the main google now and not voice search?
