@Scorpil

Google is no longer developing this extension, so it will not be available for new versions of browsers.

It didn't really work in 3.6 either...

Try the Modified Google Notebook Extension .

Switch to Evernote :) Indeed, Notebook itself has not been supported for many years

Really, you shouldn't stir up the dying. Find yourself another service. For example, Zoho Notebook - this one is still supported, like

1. Remove the plugin from FF
2. Download the plugin from the site, but do not install it (you need a file with the xpi extension)
3. Unpack the file as a regular zip archive (in fact, xpi is a zip, but with a different extension)
4. Find there is a file install.rdf
5. This file will contain a line
<em:maxVersion>3.0.*</em:maxVersion>
6. Correct it to the required version
7. Pack all files in zip
8. Change the extension to xpi
9. In FF menu New tab->Open file (CTRL + O) and open your xpi
10 PROFIT!!!

hmm...
unfortunately, there is no time to try, but I saw that in the META-INF folder there are files with the calculated md5 and sha1 sum,
try to recalculate for install.rdf and, possibly, for the sum file itself, and then "rebuild" xpi.
To be honest, I've never seen one like this :(
