Good book on C#
Guys, tell me what to read to a student, so to speak, was it not embarrassing to come to an interview with basic knowledge? It is clear that you can’t learn everything yourself and it all depends on the direction of the company’s work.
But what are the best books right now? I'm reading Troelsen's Pro C# 2010. It seems to be written not badly, but it's hard to understand, not always understanding why something specifically is needed and whether you will need it.

The book is not bad and is a good start. Then it is worth moving on to something more specific. It all depends on which direction you choose. For example, if ASP.NET, then you can advise ASP.NET 3.5 step by step. A very good guide for deepening in ASP. As a rule, at the interview, the company you are going to will be oriented to some Ukrainian field of activity and the questions will be from there. And of course, a personally written project will give you much more advantages, even if for personal purposes. But if you make something very useful and can give it away for free, it will be much better than any preparation)
I think that there is not much time to read the literature, you can try to take this course on
Fundamentals of C # Programming.
You know how to try it if it's hard to delve into. At first, taking a simpler course, more like a review (for example, what I cited above), and then more serious literature, which you wrote above in the answers, would be nice.
And if it’s clean from books, then I would advise: Nash Tray - C # 2010. An accelerated course for professionals
C# 2005 for professionals
Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 with examples in C# 2005
Highly recommended. About 4 years ago, these books were enough for me to learn .net from scratch and pass 2 Microsoft exams.
I started studying with books www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/3036839/ www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/4643493/
to understand LINQ and ASP.NET read www.ozon.ru/context/detail /id/4643493/ and www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/4797051/ respectively ,
but I think if you get a job… then the company will demand the latter, so you’ll have to read this www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id /5497094/ although he has not yet opened this one ...
Thank you all guys!
I don't think it makes sense to read crash courses and courses for beginners, because after looking through these books/courses, I see that almost all of this is familiar from Troelsen's book.
So I will continue to finish it :) And then I will delve into ASP.NET.
Thanks again!
In C#, the choice is large, it depends on the presentation of the material and your understanding, from the new one, for example,
C# 4.0 in a Nutshell, Fourth Edition.
Then something about Linq and the Entity Framework is sure - it seems to me that without this, there is nowhere in modern .net. Here again, there are a lot of books, for starters, you should get acquainted with all areas of Linq:
LINQ to Objects
LINQ to XML
LINQ to SQL
LINQ to Entities
From the books:
Pro Entity Framework 4.0
Pro LINQ: Language Integrated Query in C# 2010
Next is the direction that you choose Asp .net(mvc), Sirverlight (XAML) WPF, WCF
For starters, enough c# basics, understanding Collections, LINQ to Objects
