Gnome3 in Ubuntu 11.10 and event notifications?

Gentlemen, has anyone already tried this happiness?
Everything is fine, even some silliness does not really interfere with life (well, the beta is still the same)
But what really baffles is the sawed-out tray. Well, who came up with this bright idea? Under what substances?
Pidgin, Empathy, Skype - all of them now show a pop-up message if someone has written to you, after which this message is hidden, and the only way to see it is to move the mouse to the edge of the screen. Gorgeous notice, do not say anything.
A full google of recipes is to be taken away with the help of gnome-shell-extension, but alas - all these extensions do not affect the behavior of tray icons in any way - with or without them - it doesn’t matter (apparently, something was broken in the Ubuntu version of G3 / changed)
Maybe someone has already managed to overcome this problem? Because there is no more strength to endure this dissimilarity, already the hand reaches out to install kde.
