Gmail Firefox Skype Don't Play Well Together
Gmail hangs with Firefox
If you're using the Firefox browser, Gmail may "hang" or just not load.
To correct this, in your Firefox menu, under "Tools", select "Add-ons", then "extensions". Uninstall the Skype Firefox add-on.
Choosing "Disable" won't correct it, you must uninstall it.
They say installing the Beta stand-alone version will work.
This problem appears to be in newer versions of Firefox.

Yes, removing the skype extension helped... which is strange, since it was disabled anyway... yes, everything is wonderful...
