Githab. Is it possible to link two repositories?

We have two repositories.
1. Class for working with the API of a third-party site
2. CMS module
As the module is being developed, it becomes necessary to refine the API class.
The structure of the module is such that it contains a class for working with the API.
Is it possible to somehow link two repositories so that when cloning / downloading the cms module, the class is cloned / downloaded to work with the API?
This would keep the class up to date in the module.

git submodules, but if this is a php thing - use composer and don't torture yourself just like that
