Git :fatal.Bad default revision 'HEAD'. What to do?

Hello!
Installed Red Hat 6.2. Decided to install git from source. Everything went fine.
Added a project. but git logfatal.Bad default revision 'HEAD' fails when used.
How to deal with it?

So do you have at least one commit in the repository? Such an error may appear in this case.

git-reflog --all should help
