Git console or Github desktop?

I am new to web development, I used github desktop, in many vacancies I see that knowledge of git is needed, is it worth installing a console and learning git and not using gui, is it convenient to work with git directly from the editor (sublime text 3) than switching the window and doing commits in the program.

If my memory serves me, then the console is installed along with github desktop. So you already have it, whether you use it is another question.
github desktop is a visual counterpart, but with limited features. There are things that cannot be done through this software.

is it convenient
A matter of taste.
in many vacancies I see that knowledge of git is needed
It needs to be specified at what level. Perhaps there you need knowledge that goes beyond the knowledge of the console. For example, raise the version of git on the server, etc. But more often, a general understanding and work through the software is enough.
By the way, github desktop is not the most popular solution. There are analogues of SourceTree, SmartGit, etc.

Knowledge of git is required.
But the graphical utility will save a lot of time for simple operations.
