Getting angular coordinates from an image?

Using a depth map, you can get the distances to objects, but in order to determine their position in space and the scale, you need to get the angular coordinates. In the case of lidar, the point already contains the angular coordinates and the distance, but how to get them on the depth map where the "image" contains only the distance?
