Georgian encoding in Android
Hello.
My android app takes rows from a database and displays them. The strings come in UTF-8.
There was no sadness until a customer appeared in Georgia. Instead of the Georgian alphabet, the application displays "squares".
The problem is only with the Georgian language, here in the screenshot, test strings in different languages are pulled out of the database in a row:
As you can see, only Japanese has a small partak, but it does not count.
Another thing is strange: sometimes, if you add something in English to the Georgian text (in a random place), Georgian suddenly starts to display normally. Example:
Again, which is strange: if you add a couple of spaces to this English, Georgian can turn into squares again, and if you add more Latin letters, it will be displayed again. It is completely unclear what it depends on.
An example of a byte sequence that contains Georgian text. Here are 44 bytes that encode 22 characters:
224, 16, 32, 0, 45, 0, 32, 0, 217, 16, 208, 16, 218, 16, 208, 16, 220, 16, 211, 16, 208, 16, 235, 16, 212, 16, 47, 0, 219, 16, 210, 16, 221, 16, 209, 16, 224, 16, 221, 16, 209, 16, 208, 16
