GDB and NCurses, how?

I decided to write a C++ program using NCurses(IDE - Code::Blocks). But there is a problem. The moment the debugger reaches any of the NCurses commands, it terminates the execution:

Program exited with code 01.
Debugger finished with status 0

Actually, has anyone experienced something similar? And, most importantly, how to fix it?
