From a networker to programmers, which direction to choose?

Hello.
I have 10 years in telecom. Knowledge at CCNP level with overdue CCNP R&S. Cisco, and similar network hardware, juns. Linux(RedHat,Debian), Freebsd, Intermediate and below admin. Bash, python with google.
I look towards C ++ under Linux. Please tell me in which direction to look, where with my experience it will be easier, where will it be possible to cut corners?
Why in programming?
In the light of recent events, I do not see great prospects for further development in telecom. Most of all I was tired of pairing the brainchildren of import substitution with normal software and hardware, and emulating vigorous activity as a result of the increased appetites of the one who cannot be named.
Yes, and the ceiling of labor compensation is approaching $ 1,500, and the prospects are vague ... Who of those. specialists, the salary is much more than 100,000 rubles? Prices are still tied to the dollar.
I also tried administration, but I’m not at the age that I would be ready to stick to the console at any time of the day or night, it’s hard to save the world at night, weekends and holidays.
All the beaver and positive!

Well, apparently, or in "completely unknown distances" - that is. to any area. Or still use baggage in the form of experience in the subject area.
That is, if we were talking about a former accountant, then he would probably be more comfortable in the development of applied accounting software, the estimator - estimate software, etc.
For a networker - yet another cacti? -))

Even I didn’t understand, the goal is to go beyond the bar of 1500 Baku commissars without waking up at night from text messages “everything is gone, Wi-Fi does not catch!”? Well, we look at the exchanges at the price tag of specialists who have more than 1.5k, we have been working in this area for 4-8 years - profit!

1. Microservices (implementation of algorithms) under Linux.
2. Creation of modules for PHP.
3. "Flow" traffic bots (just don't ask me: "What is it?")
In general, the essence is correct: C++/Linux.

First, you don't know what programming is. Secondly, you think that programmers just get paid for sitting out their pants.
Thirdly, you think that you can do something in programming, thanks to your experience in system administration.
Write a cat or ls program. You just take it, look at the behavior of the program and write your own program that does the same thing. These are simple programs, but you can't write them. And everyone knows about it.
Why don't you write them? Because it seems to you that you know something there, but in fact you don’t know anything, because you haven’t studied anything.
(I won’t even describe it to you, although there is a lot to write about. It’s just that if you haven’t studied it, then you don’t know it. And you won’t know it from space.)
Well, write cat. How will it help you? man cat is all you need and that's all to find out all the features.

Go to devops.
Due to the knowledge of Linux, you will cut a bunch of corners.
