Freelance in Java, where to dig?

Hello!
I am currently learning Java Core. Is it possible for a Java programmer to work as a freelancer? I understand you need to know other technologies, so tell me what else you need to know in order to take orders on the Internet? And what kind of orders are there, if possible with examples.
I hope for your help)

Freelancing in Java is basically Android development. Orders are skipping regardless of technology, where you can offer to implement everything in Java, but these are mostly some kind of CRM \ ERP systems and others.
If you're lucky, you can grab a Java Web project, but this is a very rare case. In summary, I’ll say that if you want to freelance, focus on Android.

As mentioned above, it is more promising to take Android as a basis in terms of freelancing / remote work. In other topics, the main java development takes place in offices, as projects are on average large, designed for a team.
Java (web/enterprise) and freelancing are poorly compatible, and the way to get there, on average, still lies through the office. Getting a job as a junior is not so difficult, having studied the theory and showing some practice.

Dig in all directions. And this applies not only to Java. If there is an interest in freelancing, then find all sites on the topic, register, fill out a profile, look for projects there. Also, look at all job sites for vacancies where you can work remotely. If you speak English, then in addition to Russian-language resources, do the same on English-language resources.
Prepare a good CV and/or complete a proper profile on networks like LinkedIn. Clean up your social media profiles so that there is no garbage (cats, indistinct names and mvatars) and it is clear what you are doing, how to contact you. Put the appropriate statuses there, which clearly make it clear what you need (for example, "Java Developer. Available for remote job"). The file and the link to the profile will come in handy later. And then - look for projects and job advertisements, send applications for them until an order is found.
You can read materials on how to behave correctly and correctly with clients and, in general, various tips on this type of activity. Also, in remote work, it is important, in addition to knowledge of technology, to have a good understanding of the development process (methodologies, roles in the team, areas of responsibility), to be able to communicate in a constructive manner.
I also advise you to realize that there is usually no queue for those who want to hire you. This is so that there are no false expectations, that as soon as you voice your desire to work in freelance mode, a crowd of clients will immediately run in and overwhelm you with work. :)
I wish you good luck in the difficult but interesting field of freelancing!

I myself recently started monitoring upwork on the topic of Java development (so far without success, since I have not done freelancing before). There is a demand, and even interesting projects come across. Under Android projects, of course, more.
