Free software for efficient work with customer information?

Has anyone come across free software for desktop Windows that would allow sales managers to work in a structured way with data on the results of calls and other contacts with customers?
I don’t want to shoot sparrows from a cannon, but I can’t stand the records in Excel files either ...
PS The point is that sellers of real services should record the results of contacts with potential and current customers for reporting to management and for planning their future work.
