I haven't written CDs for a hundred years, but once I used infrarecorder.org/
Under Windows, I switched to CDBurnerXP a long time ago, everything you need is there, and no blackjack and harlots (unless you count the tiria of an absolutely useless tuner-optimizer offered to be installed during the setup).
For Linux, I used Brasero , it was quite good, but I haven’t recorded discs for a long time.

For Windows CDBurnerXP for old versions, in new versions, recording images is supported by default.
