Under Windows, I switched to CDBurnerXP a long time ago, everything you need is there, and no blackjack and harlots (unless you count the tiria of an absolutely useless tuner-optimizer offered to be installed during the setup).

For Linux, something standard, the last time I was interested in this was K3B. Most distros probably use the other one now, but I'm 146% sure it's pre-installed.
For Windows CDBurnerXP for old versions, in new versions, recording images is supported by default.
But the last time I used such software was 4 years ago (as well as DVDs), when I had to hand over projects at the university, but there was no Internet there yet.
