Forum or question-answer - what is better as a social component on a content site?

Hello. There is a content site about electricians and electrical wiring. The format is a blog. I plan to add a social component to it. Although now there are comments, I want to expand. There are two formats to choose from - forum and question-answer.
Advise which format is better and why? What is better in terms of promotion and attracting an additional audience.
What is the trend now?

I fully agree with the authors who have already spoken out earlier. The forum is a system that has simply outlived itself.
Example: not so long ago, I was interested in questions about CMS Joomla. At the first stages, of course, there were a lot of questions and misunderstandings. Of course, you start digging on the net. And unfortunately, whatever the information. background on joomlaforum, at first you will be sent to scour not even a hundred pages, but several hundred, and gradually understanding became foggy. But I wanted to just ask a question and get a specific answer, and not feel like some kind of renegade who still needs to climb the social ladder of forum grandfathers.
So, definitely - a question-answer!
This, consider, a personal approach to each client or visitor.
I hope my answer is helpful to you!
