Forum engine for a company?

Which forum engine (in php) is better to use for a company forum (for internal needs, but hosted on an external hosting)?
From the requirements:

  1. access to the forum only to authorized users (private forum)
  2. creation of sub-forums that will be visible to certain groups of users (for example, management sees everything, etc.

Any forum engine: phpBB, Invision Power Board, MyBB, etc.

Authorized access to information, as far as I remember, is optional for almost any forum engine. I recommend one of the following options.
Free:
- phpBB ( www.phpbb.com/ )
Paid:
- vBulletin ( www.vbulletin.com/ )
- Invision Power Board ( www.ibresource.ru/ )

Vanilla Forums. Social forum :) It is possible to set a closed forum (members only, registration by invitation). Small and light. The most up-to-date php existing one at the moment

In fact, any engine will suit you. At one time, I liked Burning Board for such purposes due to the fact that you can post HTML to threads there (and quite a lot of tags are understood). Lite version is free.

If you're willing to pay for vBulletin, I suggest you also check out XenForo ( xenforo.com/ ).
Although any of the popular forums has the functionality you need.
A huge plus of XenForo is that it definitely has the best architecture and code of all commercial engines.
And much better than anything I've seen for free (smf, phpbb).
But if you do not plan to expand its functionality, then you can choose any other engine.

vBulletin. I can even suggest a team that specializes in development specifically for this engine.

maybe, it’s still worth looking towards wikiu platforms - it’s more convenient to store instructions, etc.
