Tell me, do you use FF 20 on your new profile? Just for the sake of experiment, I downloaded Nightly build (22) under Windows for myself, and checked it on an empty and on an old profile, and everything seems to be okay.
Do you have anything related to ClearType in about:config? Has anything changed your settings.
Well, for the sake of experimentation, try to find the arial, serif font in FireBug and disable them in CSS. See how a different font will appear on the page
