The owner of the LG P500 himself would recommend Cyanogenmod7 and its various "assemblies" from enthusiasts (it stands out against the general mik background, if I'm not mistaken).
I tried Oxygen in version 2.6 / 2.7, but there are problems with the constant “falling off” of the Internet, I have to juggle through the icon in the status bar. Albeit a fast one.
If you allocate time and find a different optimal speed / stability - write back, please =)
PS - IMHO the fastest launcher at the moment is an old LouncherPro, but Go EX Louncher pleases from the functional ones. Try it and leave what will take root, after all, the launcher is the most cutting-edge GUI =)

my wife has a drain of 2.3 the latest, 24 hours without recharging wifi is always on, vkontakte, reads books, chats on average 1-2 hours a day, sms-it ...
works very quickly without lags and brakes, I think 24 hours for android smartphone with good use, class ... did not dare to install custom firmware and even rut.

Switch from 3g to 2g when not using the internet too much. And by the way, if you use the official VK application (well, if suddenly) - take it to hell! Even when minimized, it eats up the battery even worse than any active connection to the network, even in the absence of one ... I don’t know, it’s only on our devices, or for everyone ...
