File download counter

Perhaps a stupid question, but something I can not find anything good on this topic.
Let's say I have a server to which I periodically upload some files. I post without reference to any pages, and give links to some third-party sites. Google and Yandex statistics on file downloads, obviously, in this case do not react. Thus, it turns out that download statistics remain only in /var/log/apache2/access.log. At the same time, depending on which tool a person uses to download a file, this log contains from one to ten entries per file download. When I look at this log manually, I understand where the same person downloaded and where not.

How can this log be analyzed not by a close look, but more automatically? Maybe there are smarter ways to get things done? Thank you for your attention.
