Fedora 14 to Fedora 15 upgrade?
I've been trying to update Fedora for more than a week to no avail.
I update through preupgrade, all packages are updated to the latest versions.
Everything goes fine, the kernel is downloaded, the OS reboots, the update window appears, the update completes without errors, after which the OS reboots again and here in the hornbeam there is only the old fedora, there is no new one ...
There are no new kernels in /boot to manually rewrite the hornbeam config .
Advise what can be done here? Maybe there is an option to update not through preupgrade?

I will install ubuntu, it's better to get used to deb packages than constantly soar
yum distro-sync --releasever=15

Fedora is normally updated if you used it “as is”, and the more your config edits, additional installations of programs from outside the main repository, the more likely it is that the update will fail.
For example, I edit configs a lot for myself - I throw out PA, NM, completely reconfigure xs, mdadm, deliver rpm packages that I collect myself, etc;
so I scored on upgrade a long time ago and I keep 2 partitions of 30 gig for the root, on one the current fedora, on the other - the previous one, when I update the version, I just overwrite the older one, and after installation I throw out the extra packages and copy the configs from the neighboring partition, (I for myself, I even wrote out some of the edits so as not to forget - here )
It also helped me when I killed X in fc13 with my experiments more than six months ago, and I urgently needed a live system with my own settings - I launched fc12 from the neighboring partition, and a month later I calmly installed fc14
Does not work :(
[[email protected] pihel]# yum --releasever=15 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync

Adding ru_RU to language list
Setting up Distribution Synchronization Process
No Packages marked for Distribution Synchronization
Isn't just reinstalling an option? A lot of things have changed there, gnome3 in particular, which is probably why it won’t be updated
