External drive. HDD or SSD?

There was a need to purchase an external drive. Functions:
1. It will be used as a storage of various information and the main boot with Linux on board, for frequent work on different machines, I will divide it into two sections.
2. Will be used as music storage for playing on DJ decks, as an additional function. I usually use macbook and flash drives. But I'm also considering this option.
Will the thousandths of the pioneer and newer ones pull the volume of 240GB without brakes, does the 126GB SSD work well?
Will the OS slow down if there is USB 2.0 and an SSD drive?
The choice between 240GB SSD and HDD, a ready-made solution and a separate disk with a hub, well, which company is better to take?

if there is usb 2.0

Then the type of disk is no longer important, any disk will run into speed 2.0

When using USB, it does not matter at all which disk to use, because they all run into usb bandwidth.
Plus, the ssd is that it is not afraid of shocks, the main thing is not to store it in the sun :)
